I Don't Know

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
— ROMANS 8:26 (NLT)

I have discovered that three of the most freeing words are “I don’t know.” I have become OK with not having the answer for everything. It can be stressful always trying to figure things out or worrying how things are going to work out. There were times I didn’t know what to pray, but I knew the Holy Spirit knew and I didn’t always have to know.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

When you feel weak, allow God to be strong on your behalf. You don’t have to know all the answers. You only need to know the God that does. Paul tells us in Romans 8:26 that “we don’t know...” But go down just two more verses and find out what we DO know. Romans 8:28 says, “we know that God causes everything to work together for the good.” And you know what? Sometimes, that’s all you need to know.

Knowing is half the battle

Don't Run

‘Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.’ ‘Yes, we will come to you, for you are the LORD our God.’
— JEREMIAH 3:22 (NIV)

God loves you and He wants a loving relationship with you. When you sin, it doesn’t mean Jesus stops loving you or you’re a bad person. It means you’re a human being and not a human doing.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

When you sin, fall short, or backslide, that’s not the time to run from God. It’s the perfect time to run to Him. He’s waiting for you to come to Him. Scripture says when you confess your sin to God, He is faithful and just and will forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Does that sound like a God who’s mad at you or one who can fall out of love with you? No! It sounds like a loving Father who wants His child to return to Him. Your legs are too short to run from God, so don’t even try. Instead, stretch your arms out to Him and return.

…Nowhere to hide

Clean House

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
— ROMANS 12:2 (NKJV)

A couple things happen when you clean your house: you get rid of clutter and find things you forgot you had that you need. Until you clean and get rid of the clutter, you can’t see the important things you once had. They could be sentimental, valuable, or something important because of who gave it to you. But some way over time, you forgot it or lost it in the clutter.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

God gave you something special too, but you may have misplaced it because you haven’t cleaned house in a while. Worldly things have cluttered your life and now you’re off track from your godly purpose. Smoking, gossiping, arguing or depression prevent you from renewing your mind, praying, and studying. Clean your spiritual house today. Prove what is good and acceptable to God by getting rid of the clutter and finding that perfect will of God.

You Can Have...

Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it.
— JAMES 4:2C (NLT)

When’s the last time you asked God for what you wanted? Do you normally find yourself searching for ways to get what you want using your own strength, energy and tactics? Is what you want of God? Are you embarrassed to ask? Maybe you don’t know how to ask. Whatever your situation or reasoning for not going to God first may result in you not receiving what’s already yours.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

You have not, because you ask not. You can have a life full of blessings and void of stress. You only have to ask. God already knows what you need, and He’s ready to give to you liberally, but you need to ask Him so that when you receive you realize God did it and not someone or something else. Remove yourself from the equation. Humbly go before God and ask. And remember, you can have…

It’s already yours

God Already Knows

Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
— Matthew 6:8 (NIV)

Even when you don’t realize it, God is paying attention to you. He sees each decision you make each day. He knows what you need in life before you ask Him. The tough part is exercising patience on the receiving end. Have faith that God knows the perfect time to release your blessing.

While you may feel that you’re ready for your breakthrough today, God already planned it for next week before you were even born! Believe that Jesus has already answered your prayer and taken care of all your needs, so your prayers can now focus on others, the needs of your church, and the condition of your community. Live life knowing that your request is already known and answered.

He knows before you know

Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing what I need before I ask You. I have faith You will release my blessing exactly when I need it. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When You Give

And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
— 2 CORINTHIANS 9:8 (NLT)

When you plan to give, God plans to give to you. Everything you have is on loan from God. Where you live, what you drive, and all your possessions can’t follow you into the afterlife. The Egyptian Pharaohs tried to “take it with them” by building the pyramids, but it still didn’t really work out as they planned. So, God blessed you generously to give to others.

It’s an investment that always yields a godly return. When you freely give of your heart, God promised to generously provide all you need. He said you will always have everything you need, watch this, AND plenty left over to share with others. You don’t lose when you give. You actually gain. Are you a cheerful giver? If not, look for ways to become a giver and then expect God to do what He said.

Uncomfortable

…and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
— MATTHEW 4:22 (NKJV)

To get out of life what Christ has for you, you may have to get uncomfortable. You will have to totally step out on faith do what you may have never done before. Being comfortable in familiar territory can prove to be your worst enemy. Change is not your enemy. Change is your friend.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

When you’re comfortable, you relax, blank out, and can become stagnate. You may miss the opportunities and connections God is setting before you. Every once in a while, you have to leave your comfort zone to learn more about yourself and the plans Christ have for you. This discomfort will not last always, but what Jesus has for you will!

Drop Your Net

They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
— MATTHEW 4:20 (NKJV)

Does Jesus have your attention today? Can you clearly hear His direction? There are some things in life that block the ability to hear Christ. Some of these things are busy work, things you enjoy doing, or commitments you feel can only be done by you. While these things may not be wrong or bad, you have to be willing to drop your net to follow Christ.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

The disciples in today’s scripture were fishing when Jesus called them to follow Him. I’m sure they enjoyed fishing and the success that came with it, but Jesus had other plans in mind for them. They immediately dropped their nets. Likewise, Christ wants you to follow Him and drop your net. Don’t allow your agenda to be too full and prevent you from doing God’s work. When Jesus calls you today, stop what you’re doing, drop your net, and follow Him. You’ll be glad you did!

Have faith and trust Christ

Whatever I Am

But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out His special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.
— 1 CORINTHIANS 15:10 (NLT)

Wherever you find yourself in life today, God has a plan. Whatever you are right now, it’s with purpose. If you don’t think you’re where you should be, it’s OK. You’re right where God planned for you to. And if you keep listening to Christ and allowing His Holy Spirit to guide and direct you, His glory will be revealed in you. So, keep your head high and to the sky.

You’re not a mistake, it’s not a mistake, and today is not a mistake. You have God’s special favor poured out over you. You are where you are because of God’s grace working through you. Push!

Listen When No One Else Will

Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions.
— PROVERBS 18:2 (NLT)

Everyone has a voice and everyone should be heard. Unfortunately, everyone is not considered equal due to their race, gender, or preference and sometimes disregarded in social arenas or in regards to certain conversations. When Jesus encountered people who didn’t meet the high standards of others, you know what He did? Listened.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

From the woman with the issue of blood to the beggar by the pool, Jesus took time to listen to them. Likewise, we don’t always have to offer our opinion. Sometimes we just need to listen to gain understanding and an ability to empathize. And with this, the true spirit of Christ’s compassion will boast through us and spread the love of God as He intended.

Shhhhhhh!

It's A Mindset

The greatest among you must be a servant.
— MATTHEW 23:11 (NLT)

When Jesus was teaching His disciples about the importance of serving, He told them, “…those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.” To humble yourself in the presence of others takes knowing who you are. And once you know who you are, you will have no problem humbling yourself to serve others.

It’s a mindset to think of others before yourself. Jesus once said, “There is none great, but the Father,” but here He describes being a servant as “the greatest.” I suggest that when you seek to serve others, you come closer in your walk with God and His greatness rubs off on you. Serving others is an awesome opportunity to serve God. If you find yourself thinking of yourself before others, change your mindset and start walking in greatness.

The first shall be last

Come Together

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
— HEBREWS 10:25 (NLT)

It’s perfectly fine to enjoy your favorite tele-evangelist or motivational speaker on YouTube or your preferred social media platform, but nothing is like coming together with believers and receiving direct and customized encouragement. Jesus never planned for His people to operate alone in silos. He made the body of Christ to be fitted together where each part has a special contribution.

If you’re not sure about meeting in large groups, like Sunday worship service at your local church, be sure to become part of a Life Group or come together with friends and family to receive godly encouragement. A positive word goes a long way, and you need like-minded believers to lean on every once in a while. It’s not a show of weakness. It’s a show of unity in God’s body. And where two or three are gathered together in God’s name, He is there.

These Things

Your iniquities have turned these things away, and your sins have withheld good from you.
— JEREMIAH 5:25 (NKJV)

When studying the bible, I tend to lean towards the “good” scriptures. You know, those “uplifting, I can face the world tomorrow, good promises of God” scriptures. The ones that remind me I can do all things and that I’m more than a conqueror. The ones that tell me I’m blessed in the city and the field. And I hang my hat on these “good” scriptures. Every so often, I come across ones that make me look in the mirror and say, “You ain’t right, man!” These kind of scriptures remind me that I still have some work to do if I want to experience all of God’s goodness.

Share with your family and friends by clicking HERE.

Today’s scripture tells us that our iniquities – planned sin or sin we don’t intend to stop doing – will withhold good from us. So, if we continue in our iniquities, we can expect to miss out on some of the good things God wants to give us. If we continue to hold unforgiveness in our hearts, we will miss out on these things. If we continue to not love one as Christ loves us, we will miss out on these things. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to continue to miss out on these things. Join me today in evaluating what’s withholding God’s good and what iniquities are turning these things away. Once identified, get rid of them, make a decision to stop immediately, and line back up with Christ.

Bless me indeed

Friendly Reminder

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things—even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.
— 2 PETER 1:12 (NLT)

Jesus loves you so much. He gave His all just for you to have eternal life with Him. Christ isn’t waiting to punish you or point out the wrong you’ve done. He isn’t wagging His holy finger at you declaring how imperfect you are. On the contrary. Jesus forgives you. He died for you while you were in the act of sinning and He still – right now – is welcoming you into His loving open arms.

God has given you everything you need to do so. You are the best you in the world! And I just wanted to remind you of it.

Have a great day!
