Have you ever thought you’d be happy after obtaining or achieving something only to find out you weren’t as happy as you thought you’d be? “If I get hired at this new company, I’ll be set!” “If I could only get them to notice me, I’ll be happy!” The truth of the matter is you already have everything you need to be “set” or “happy.” You can find it, and more, in Jesus.

Build your hopes on eternal things. Your true happiness is not in things or people, but Christ. With Christ as your focal point (or who you seek to please first), you will be happy when you have things and happy for those times you have to go without things. You’ll be set rubbing elbows at social events but also while reading a good book alone. Money answers all things, but God holds all things. Remember to seek Christ first in everything and enjoy the eternal blessings He’s commanded for you.
