“But if you fail to keep your word, then you will have sinned against the LORD, and you may be sure that your sin will find you out.”
There’s an old saying: “What’s done in the dark will come to the light.” It’s just another way of saying people can’t get away with doing wrong things because it will eventually catch up with them and expose them and their wrongdoing. As believers we don’t have to operate in darkness because Christ has brought us into His marvelous light. To walk with Jesus, we have to stay in the light as there is no darkness in Him.

One way to stay in the light is to keep your word that you’ve made to God. Be sure that everything you do and say brings glory to Him. Plenty of people will try to steer you from this path but remember that your relationship with Christ is more important than revenge, jealousy, hate, or any other sin that comes against God. You have the victory. You’re already fighting sin from a winning position. Keep the upper hand over the enemy by staying in the light.
