“Be still in the presence of the Lord and wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.”
I had a friend recently flip a phrase I’ve heard many times. He said to me, “Van, God is never late, but He also is never early!” I laughed as he shared some of his God experiences with me that backed up his statement. He told me how God didn’t rescue him from hardships and trying times when he would have liked, but Jesus was still right on time when He did deliver him. He knew God had provided before and that he only needed to wait patiently and be still in the presence of the Lord. Surely, He would show up again.

There may be some people plotting against you today and it may at times seem that their wicked schemes are prospering, but you don’t have to worry about the evil that people do. God is on your side. And if He is for you, no one can be against you. Wait patiently for Christ to act on your behalf. Don’t grow weary wondering “Why won’t Jesus get them now?” or “Why won’t God deliver me today?” Because He wants you to grow. Because He wants to change your life. Because He wants you to realize He is God and there’s nothing He can’t do. Wait patiently for God to act. He’s never early. He’s never late. He’s always right on time.
