‘Truly I tell you,’ Jesus replied, ‘no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.’
— MARK 10:29, 30 (NIV)

Jesus has plans to bless us. All throughout the bible, love letters are written about how much He loves us, how He provides for us and how He blesses us over and over again. We hang our faith on these promises. They get us through the rough patches in life, they encourage us to live godly and they remind us that God is mindful of us. And as joyful as these passages of scripture make us feel, they’re not the only part of the bible that is true. What I mean is, we have to take the good along with the bad.

If you believe you have a hundred-fold blessing coming, believe it comes along with some persecution. But don’t worry, the blessing God has for you will far outweigh the suffering you may have to experience. When you go through your dark valley’s in life, don’t be afraid. You’re in biblical territory. Allow your faith to grow you to the point where you celebrate in the face of adversity because you know Jesus is about to show up and show out! The more uncomfortable the persecution, the greater the blessing coming your way if you only endure, stay faithful and keep doing things God’s way. Along with your pain comes a great praise.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your blessings and the growth I experience through persecution. You are with me always and will see me through. I praise Your name for what You have done, are doing and will do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
