Prove It

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
— HEBREWS 11:1 (KJV)

When I first started teaching biblical principles and leading workshops, I couldn’t wait to pour into others in see the spiritual light bulb inside of people light up. I was trained by an awesome man of God and knew I was prepared to teach the truth and answer any question from anyone with scripture. Outside of church settings, occasionally, someone would challenge me by questioning is God real. In my younger years, I would go into battle trying to convince that person, left and right, up and down, how I know God is real, but the truth of the manner is, without faith, that person could never know for themselves.

Don’t ever feel you have to defend your faith. Faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. How can you defend that? “How do you know there’s a God?” Answer: “I have faith He exist.” “How do you know there’s a heaven?” Answer: “My faith tells me it is.” My point is, you can’t explain God. He’s too big. Plus, He needs no explanation! You don’t have to prove your faith to anyone beyond showing them by the way you live. I learned not to argue about God, but instead, invite others through God’s love through me.
