It Ain't Who You Are

“But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?’ And God said, ‘I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.’”
— EXODUS 3:11 – 12 (NIV)

Have you ever been given an assignment from God that you thought was too big for you to accomplish? He may have told you to quit your job of twenty-five years and go into business for yourself. He may have told you to write your first book. He probably told you to forgive that person who you haven’t spoken to in years. Or He may have told you to start exercising regularly and eat right to get off your medication. And you may have thought, “Who am I, Lord, to change or carry out your big plan? I can’t do this!” And you know what? You’re absolutely right.

Heavenly Father, thank You for my godly assignment and for going with me. I realize it’s not who I am, but Whose I am. I am Your child on Your assignment, and I am blessed because You are with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
