Don't Be Ashamed

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

If you all remember, I gave up all meat for the new year. Since then, I’ve lost over 20 pounds, dropped a couple pant sizes, allergies are a lot better and I feel more energized. Even with these great results, some of my friends poke fun at me. “What do you eat all day?” “You’re crazy!” “What are you? A vegetarian now?” It’s all in fun, I know. They’re actually happy for me and I’ve managed to inspire a few, but I hated being called a vegetarian. It just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Like my choice was a fad or phase. Then I thought about it; why be ashamed of something that’s blessed me?

Living for God is a choice that some people can’t understand either. They see your results. They see how good God’s been to you, and how your life has changed, but still can’t understand why you sacrifice so much time praying, studying or why you give tithes regularly. They call you “holy roller” and “choir boy” and it may make you feel some kind of way, but don’t be ashamed of the Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work in you and it saved your life and changed your life. Keep doing what you’re doing for God regardless of what others may say. You see your results. They see your results. But most of all, God sees you!
