Don't Swerve

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.
— HEBREWS 10:23 (NIV)

It’s that time of the year for Michigan to be Michigan again. Michiganders know what that means. It has snowed, rained and been a sunshiny day all in the same day! On the way home from work, the wind was blowing pretty hard. It blew so vehemently that it caused my car to swerve into the other lanes on the freeway. I didn’t even realize my car was being moved that far until my tires ran over the rumble strips. The noise made me pay closer attention, grip the steering wheel a little tighter so I wouldn’t swerve into the next lane causing an accident.

What’s the last promise God made to you? Was it that He’d keep you in perfect peace? Was it that He’d cause you to triumph? Whatever God told you He’d do, it’s coming, don’t worry. He didn’t forget. Jesus is faithful. Just make sure you don’t swerve! When the winds of life try to toss you to and fro, grip the wheel tighter! When you roll over the rumble strips of life, that’s God telling you to wake up and pay attention! When adversity strikes, hold unswervingly to the hope you professed. God is able to do just what He said He would. He’s faithful. Your blessing is just ahead if you don’t swerve.

Heavenly Father, I hold unswervingly to the hope I professed in You. I believe You will deliver what You have promised because You are faithful. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
