Nasty Bug

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
— PHILIPPIANS 4:8 (NKJV)

My son was not feeling well last night. He was coming down with a nasty bug that was causing him to cough a bit and not feel his best. He was sluggish, didn’t feel much like talking and just wanted to lay down. I hated to see him this way and gave him a little pep talk. I told him, “Vann! You’re stronger than this nasty bug that’s trying to make you feel bad. Don’t let it tell you your sick or tired. Beat it by telling yourself you feel great and are full energy!” And before you know it, his new thinking on the inside began to show on the outside and he was looking and feeling better!

There’s a nasty bug that’s out to get you too – if it hasn’t gotten you already. It’s a nasty little bug in your ear telling false things about you. It’s reminding you of the things you left behind 2019. It’s telling you what you can’t do and what you can’t become. My friend, you’re stronger than that nasty bug! When those negative thoughts pop into your mind, kill them with positive thoughts. Destroy them by thinking on things that are true. Decimate them by thinking about things that noble. Demolish them by changing your thoughts to whatever things are just, pure, lovely and of good report. And before you know it, your thinking on the inside will begin to show on the outside and you’ll be looking and feeling better.

Heavenly Father, I’m done meditating on whatever nasty bugs are telling me. I choose to meditate on things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely and of good report. I’m changing my thinking to things that are only of You, Lord. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
