“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
Every one of us has that one person in our life that’s one word away from being told off. It could be that co-worker at work that thinks they know everything about everything and feels the notion to always parade in your living space. It could be the nosey church member that’s known for spreading everyone’s business and now feels it’s your turn to be at the end of their exhausted research (gossip). And, as good as it may feel to your flesh to give them two pieces of your mind, my friend, don’t give in.

Continue to walk in the Spirit of Christ and you will not give in to the desires of your flesh. You are blessed to be a blessing to others, not a curse. Realize that people who participate in such wicked acts – backbiting, gossiping, jealousy and envy – are hurting and under spiritual attack. You, being the stronger vessel, can’t give in. God has given you His Spirit to walk in and be a light to the world. You’re representing Jesus. If you give in to your flesh, people around you may never know Christ for themselves and you would have strengthen the devil’s agenda instead of God’s. The next time you’re tested – and you will be – don’t give in. Walk in the Spirit and trust God to handle the tricks of the enemy.
