Won't He Do It?

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
— NUMBERS 11:23 (NKJV)

Do you find your trust in God to be iron clad until something uncomfortable happens in life? While everything is going good in life, you’re singing praises with Kirk Franklin and saying amen with T.D. Jakes, but when trouble strikes your trust tends to waver a bit and you begin to wonder why God has forsaken you. Your faith is strong until you lose your job. You believe God is in control until you lose a loved one. In these times you must remember that God is the same God when things are going great and when things are going not so great.

A common call and response in church starts when someone asks, “Won’t He (God) do it?” and the proper response from the congregation is, “Yes, He will!” This is based off the belief that God is a God of provision, promise and protection and a foundational understanding that God is not a man, that He should lie. Therefore, if God promised you anything in His Word, He will do it. It doesn’t matter what you’re facing today, God will make good of His promise to you. Continue to walk in faith. Continue to trust Christ. Whatever you’re experiencing, God is bigger than that. Whatever you’re going through, Jesus will deliver you from it. You only need to be obedient, ask, believe and you will receive it.
