Be the Change

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
— ROMANS 15:7 (NIV)

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for you and me on Calvary’s cross. Jesus loved us unconditionally. Even when we messed up. Even when we weren’t saved, sanctified and filled with His Holy Ghost. Even when we didn’t listen and did it anyway. Jesus accepted us. Why? I suggest it’s because He knows our potential. He knows what we can be and do. We are important to Him. So, instead of rejecting us, He loved us and accepted us knowing we’d one day come to know Him.

As Christ accepted you in your sin state, accept one another in order to bring praise to God. As much as you would like to, you do not have the power to change people. Only God can do that. You do have the power to lead people to Christ through your testimony or your example, but ultimately, it’s up to that person to accept change over their life. Instead of trying to force the change, be the change. Accept them where they are in life and show them a better way by how you live for Christ. Be the light of the world that’s needed. Be the salt of the earth you were called to be. Be the change.

Heavenly Father, I will accept my brother and sister just as You accepted me. Instead of making people change, I will be the change in order to bring you praise. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
