Use Wisely

So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
— ISAIAH 55:11 (NIV)

We talk about how powerful our God is all the time. We know how mighty He is and we reverence His strength. We know that He is able to calm storms with the whisper of His voice. We know He is able to call that which was dead to life again. At times, I wonder if we realize He gave us the same power to speak things into existence and over our lives?

So, what are you speaking into your life? You don’t have to look too far for the answer. Whatever topic you find most in your Facebook timeline, whatever book you’re reading, whatever you find in your text messages or whatever you’re watching on television heavily influences what you’re speaking in your life. If your social media posts are “doom & gloom” or drama-filled, you’re speaking that into your life. If your text messages are full of gossip, you’re speaking that into your life. This week, focus on speaking positively into your life. Express thoughts of love, peace, good health and wealth. Talk about what God has done, is doing and about to do in your life. The words that come out of your mouth will not return to you empty. Use each one wisely.

Let there be light

Heavenly Father, I know that words from my mouth will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it! I will speak life and use each word wisely. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
