What Do You See?

When the members of the Sanhedrin heard this, they were furious and gnashed their teeth at him. But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. ‘Look,’ he said, ‘I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.’
— ACTS 7:54 – 56 (NIV)

In today’s scripture, we find Stephen addressing the Sanhedrin Council because of various people of the community spreading rumors that he blasphemed against Moses and God as he was found performing great wonders and signs being full of God’s grace and power. After Stephen told the Sanhedrin Council what they didn’t want to hear, they dealt him his punishment of death, but Stephen didn’t focus on man’s judgment for him. In the midst of this injustice, he saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at His right hand.

What do you see when you come face to face with trouble? Do you focus on the rumors people are spreading about you? Do you stress over issues that you have no control over? The next time hardship falls upon you or trouble is on your doorstep, I encourage you to invoke the Holy Spirit that resides in you and see the glory of God. See your Jesus stand at the right hand of God. Christ is in a position to deliver you from any and everything you are facing. You only need to see Him and not your opposition. See Him instead of the people or forces telling you you can’t, your not worthy, or you don’t deserve a blessed life. You are the righteousness of God and He sees you. Do you see Him?

He’s bigger than your opposition
