Thanks! I Needed That!

On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.
— ACTS 8:1 (NIV)

The Lord is blessing you right now. You may not be aware of it at times, but God is constantly loving you, protecting you and keeping you. In this protection, trouble may arise in your life from time to time, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t blessing you. Sometimes, God will allow you to suffer persecution to push you toward your purpose or next blessing. In these times, continue to exercise your faith and remember Jesus promised His disciples in Mark 10 that they would be blessed 100 hundredfold along with eternal life, but they would also experience persecutions.

In today’s scripture, the Christians came under great persecution at the hand of Saul. They were forced to scatter to the exact places Jesus told them to go in Acts 1:8. Without this persecution, they may have never done what Christ asked of them. Does this sound familiar to you? Would you have started your own business before you lost your job? Would you live the fearless life you live now had it not been for rejection? Would you appreciate what you have now without being broke the last two and a half years? The next time you experience persecution, remember that God will work everything out for your good and He is preparing to perform His next miracle through you. Persecution may be the kick in the butt you need! So during your next prayer tell God, “Thanks! I needed that!”

God is always at work
