I Know You Can

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
— JAMES 1:22 (NIV)

God never meant for you to lack or go without the things you need for a prosperous life. He never meant for you to live a life of suffering, stress or depression. This does not mean you won’t experience some rain in your life, but it means Christ has the tools you need to withstand, survive a push through the rough times and He wants to liberally give those tools to you. (You can tell there’s a “but” coming, right?) But, to get these tools and precious promises from our Lord, you can’t merely listen to the word. You have to do what it says. And you know what? I know you can do it!

If you’re tired of fighting battles, be still and the Lord will fight for you. Need your strength renewed, place your hope in God, not energy drinks or things. Losing sleep because you can’t figure it out yourself, ask God who will generously give you the wisdom you need. Need the devil to leave you the “H-e-double hockey stick” alone? Submit yourself to God and the devil will flee. Need peace, click here. Need money, click here. I only tapped into a very small amount of the promises God has for you and I bet you’ve heard them before. And since you’ve heard them before (or now), you only need to do what it says. Sure, it may be different, tough or out of your comfort zone, but I know you can. And just remember, what God asks of you is not hard.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for all the promises You have generously blessed me with. I will no longer just listen to Your word, but do what it says. I know I can. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
