Plan For The Day

Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
— MARK 13:33 (NIV)

Do you like organizing events at work, surprise birthday parties or get togethers? Most people don’t, but if you’re like me, it’s kind of a gift. You plan activities and food favorites that people will enjoy. You call around to get the best pricing for decorations. Should you do a traditional cake or go with cupcakes? You make, modify, and change your guest list about eighty-eleven times. Gift registry or trust that people will buy good gifts and not re-gift? A lot of preparation goes into planning the perfect event and you want to make sure everything is perfect and ready!

There’s one event you may not be able to plan for, but you can still be ready. I’m talking about the day Jesus comes back. Some people get uptight when this topic comes up while other people welcome the idea and celebrate the day Christ comes back for His church. And although you may not know when He will return, you can still plan for the day. Plan by living your life the way Christ intended. Love your neighbor as yourself. Forgive others seventy times seventy. Fulfill your purpose. Pray. Worship. Praise. Tithe. Repent. What’s your plan to live a life acceptable to God? You can’t be perfect, but you can be ready.

Heavenly Father, I don’t know when You will return, but I do know it will be a happy day. Throughout my blessed days here, I will be on guard and be alert while I watch and pray. I will live a life acceptable to You according to Your plan. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
