Offer Jesus

If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

Christians get a bad reputation at times for aggressively going after souls. I’ve seen church members pressure visitors to walk the middle aisle during the invitation to accept Christ, while not fully understanding the commitment they’re making. I’ve seen Christians become irate when someone does not believe what they believe. Likewise, I’ve witness some believers accept a person’s opposition and ask if they could just pray for them. I believe the latter to be one of the better approaches. When you offer Jesus, instead of forcing Him, no one is left upset, confused or disappointed.

I may be wrong, and I don’t claim to be a bible scholar, but I don’t recall any of the disciples beating people over the head to accept Christ. When you offer Jesus to someone, it should be by a message full of love, peace and compassion. And if your words are not welcome, shake the dust off your Nikes and keep it moving. There is someone else that needs your message. Don’t waste time hating the drug dealer, downing the prostitute or condemning the LGBTQQ community to hell. You don’t have a hell to send them to. Instead, continue to be a witness. Continue to plant the seed in faith. Continue your work of the ministry. The world needs Jesus. And though the world may not know it now, it will come to know one day through your offering.
