We Fall Down...

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
— ROMANS 3:23 – 24 (NIV)

Oops, you did it again! You sinned. You did wrong by God, yourself and people you love. You let your family down. Your friends are side eyeing you. Your co-workers aren’t sure they can trust you. And the church folk?! Oh my God! Don’t get me started. The Super Saints are murmuring in the background and the Holier-Than-Thou crowd are shaking heads and pointing fingers. It’s public knowledge of the mistake you made. What to do, what to do!? I’ll tell you … Keep living.

At some point in life, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. And the same way He has forgiven me, He will forgive you. Repent of your sin and accept the grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus that justifies you freely. Christ has forgiven you. God knew you’d fall short, which is why He sacrificed His Son for you and me. Now, two more things: One, after you have asked God for forgiveness, forgive yourself! Don’t get stuck and don’t let people stick you. Move on! Live Life. Second, the same way you want God to forgive you, forgive others when they fall down. Not only that, but help them back up just as you’d want someone to help you. After all, we fall down just like anyone else, but the difference in conquerors is we get back up again.

Get back up again

Heavenly Father, I have sinned. Please forgive me for my sin and cleanse me. I repent of my sin. Give me the strength to forgive myself and the courage to help others when they fall down. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
