What's In Your Plans?

Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
— PROVERBS 14:22 (NIV)

I like a good heist movie. You know the kind where you almost start to root for the bad guy? I like when they have a well laid out plan of breaking into a place that no one has ever attempted or has been successful. They plan out how much time they have to break in and get out before the police respond. They check out the security systems and architectural prints. They research uniforms to match the employees to go unnoticed. They’re plan always seem to have them a couple steps ahead of the good guys, but in the end of the movie, their plot to do evil usually goes astray.

Although movies are make-believe, art does imitate life at times. The bad guys of this world are constantly plotting to do evil. To steal your car, bully your kid, or just make sure you don’t live your best life. But what’s in your plan today? Have you devised a plan to do good? To bless them that curse you? To pray for those who despitefully use you? To help someone that can’t help themselves without expecting anything in return? As a believer, make plans to do good in order to spread the kindness and love of Jesus to the world. With a plan you better your chances of being successful. Out do those who plot evil. Plan what is good and release the love and faithfulness of Christ.

Heavenly Father, today, I’m going to plan to do good. I want others to experience Your love and Your faithfulness through me. I will allow Your Holy Spirit to guide me and direct me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
