God's Word Counts

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
— ISAIAH 55:11 (NIV)

If you’re alive, you’ve probably have heard some harsh things. People have been told they wished they were never born. People have been told they are no good and will never amount to anything. Some people weren’t afford certain job opportunities because they didn’t fit the bill, while others may have been rejected from elite clubs and cliques. If you have experienced any of this, it can leave you feeling worthless, defeated and empty, but I want to remind you today that it’s what God says about you that counts.

Your parents may have said hurtful things; family members, children, best friends or people you work with, but their words only have the power you allow them to have. However, there is redeemable power in God’s words. There is life in the words He’s spoken concerning you. When He speaks about you, His words are not empty. They are words that will accomplish what He pleases and will not return void. When He said you can do all things through Christ, God meant it. When He called you more than a conqueror, God meant it. You are the righteousness of God and not what they say you are. Listen to the words that count and those that will cause you to prosper.
