The Gift Behind the Sin

Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.
— EPHESIANS 4:28 (NIV)

No one is perfect. Everyone has something they can work on to improve their lives. Good living is a journey, not a destination. On this journey you will find yourself falling short, discover imperfections and sin in your life you’ll need to get rid of. And when you make these discoveries along the way to a better you, don’t beat yourself up over it and don’t allow others to condemn you either.

Identify the sin problem in your life today and devote that misused energy toward sharing God’s goodness with others. The more energy you devote to your sin, the less you have to devote to those in need. Your sin can pull you away from quality time with your family, production at work, or ministry in your community. There’s a gift for others behind you sin, but you can’t perform God’s work while your hands are full carrying sin. Stop the sin, do the work and begin to share with those in need.

Your hands are blessed

Heavenly Father, I am not perfect, but in You, I am. I will work against sinning so that I may continue to do Your work and share with those in need. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
