Dropped The Ball

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.
— JOHN 3:17 (NIV)

Let’s face it. You may not get everything right the first time around. You may have made some mistakes as a child, friend, parent or spouse. You may say the wrong thing, do the wrong thing or think the wrong thing. Your actions may cause disappointment, hurt or frustration. Some people may forgive you for your wrong, while others may not, but remember no matter how wrong you may be, mistake or intentional, Jesus will forgive you if you confess to Him.

It’s not what you did, but it’s if you’re willing to acknowledge what you did that matters with Christ. Take off your “holier-than-thou” t-shirt long enough to admit you dropped the ball.  You fell short. You made a mistake. It’s OK. God did not send His Son into the world to point fingers or punish you. Christ came to save you from sin. You’re not perfect. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You’re not going to be sinless, but your goal is to sin less. Every once in a while, you’re going to drop the ball, but Christ is by your side, strengthening you to pick the ball back up, and finish running toward your goal.

It’s not over

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, into this world, not to condemn it, but to save me. Thank You for Your strength that enables me to pick the ball back up and keep running toward the goal You’ve set before me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
