Start Somewhere

Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
— JOHN 13:17 (NIV)

There was a small child in a mall who was lost and separated from his dad. A security guard noticed the child crying and offered to help. As the child accepted the help and searched for the father, the child continually recited the alphabet over and over. “A, B, C, D…Y, and Z” After the seventh time reciting the alphabet, the security guard asked the child, “Why do you keep saying you’re A, B, C’s?” The child said, “Because I don’t know what to pray, but I know my A, B, C’s and I believe God can put the letters together for me!”

As a believer, you may not always know the scripture you need. You may not always have the exact words to pray. However, you do know Jesus loves you. You do know that God has provided for you this far. So, in times of despair. In times of confusion. In times of disbelief. Don’t forget what you do know, do those things, and know Christ will bless you. You know by His stripes you’re failed kidneys are healed. You know Jesus will provide all your needs even when your loan application is denied. You know God will grant you the peace that surpasses all understanding when all hell has broken loose in your life. If you become lost or trouble arises, don’t forget what you know.
