Put It On Your Heart

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up
— DEUTERONOMY 6:6 – 7 (NIV)

When you see a good movie (Black Panther), you can’t wait to discuss your favorite part on the car ride home. After a lavish, overdue vacation to a sunny spot, you can’t wait to “check in” and post pictures on Facebook or Instagram. Tasty meal at a new restaurant? You tell it. Favorite artist makes a new song? “Child, listen to this!” Whenever we have a good experience, we make sure to share with the world… and sometimes with people we don’t even know or care about what we’re doing.

Whatever is on your heart, you share, but don’t forget to share your love for God with those you love. Take time to tell your children, family, and friends about the goodness of God and the matchless reward of following His commandments. If you don’t have children, find some in your family, community or church to establish a godly relationship with. Put it on your heart to place the commandments of God into someone’s heart. I guarantee the conversation will be better than any movie, vacation, dinner, or song you’ve ever experienced!

Heavenly Father, I choose to put the commandments You gave me on my heart. I will impress them on my children, family, and friends. I will talk about them in my home, on walks, when I lie down and when I get up. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
