No Favoritism

Then Peter began to speak: ‘I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right.’
— ACTS 10:34 – 35 (NIV)

We all know or have heard of people doing some unscrupulous things to get ahead, get promoted, or to gain popularity. We even know people that belong to certain organizations, clubs, or groups, just for the notoriety and perks. It’s great to know that God doesn’t play favorites. He doesn’t care how much money we have, what family we came from, or what our zip codes are. God accepts everyone from every nation who fears Him and does what is right.

God doesn’t care about your race, the color of your skin, or your citizenship. He only cares that you love Him enough to do what is right. This is how you become God’s favorite. Treating one another with love, dignity, and respect. Using words that only build one another up and encourages others to become who Christ says they are. You become God’s favorite when you do for others and think of yourself last. For if God is accepting of those that fear Him and does what is right, perhaps we all should be accepting of others too.

Heavenly Father, thank You for not showing favoritism, but for accepting me because I fear You, God, and am doing what is right. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
