Will It Stop You?

‘Come now, let us settle the matter,’ says the LORD. ‘Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.’
— ISAIAH 1:18 (NIV)

The mind is a strong force to reckon with. It controls how you feel, tells you what to think, and is capable of both opening and closing doors for you. Sin is a major contributor to what feeds our minds. We begin to place limits on our relationship with GOD because of sin. We feel GOD can no longer use us because of our sin. We feel we can’t pray because of our mistakes. The mind can make us feel we can’t be forgiven for our sin and even convince us to stay where we are in life – spiritually dead. This is when we have to remind ourselves that the Holy Spirit is in control, not our mind, and the Lord has already settled our matter of sin!

You’ve done wrong and I’ve done wrong. I used to think, “Who am I to write daily devotionals as scarlet as my sins are?” And then GOD answered, “A person I can still use!” My question for you today is will you allow sin to stop you or allow GOD to use you? Will you allow your past to govern the future Christ has for you? Henry Ford once said, “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t – you’re right.” You can move past your sin. You can change who you were yesterday with Christ. You can repent. You can ask for forgiveness. You still are who Jesus said you were when He formed you in the womb. Stop sin. Don’t let it stop you. You’re stronger. You’re better. You’re a child of GOD. You’ve already won!
