Do It Anyway

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’ Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain.
— PHILIPPIANS 2:14 – 16 (NIV)

Ever needed an extra push to complete a task you knew had to be done? You don’t want to get out of bed on those cold mornings for work, but you need that paycheck. You don’t want to do that last sit up, but baby fat doesn’t look good on adults. You have a church leadership workshop over the weekend, but you wanted to have a playdate with your friends and some chicken wings.

If you’re like me, it’s a lot of things to do on your list of things to do that you don’t want to do, but do it anyway because you never know who will be blessed because of your actions. Grumbling or arguing only prolongs the inevitable. Instead, believe that God Himself has commissioned you to complete this task and upon completion, whether it be rolling out of bed, sit ups, or attending church meetings, Jesus has plans to make you shine among the stars in the sky. Whatever the task before you, have faith that your labor is not in vain. God will reward you, now, in this time, as you hold firmly to the word of life.

Keep pushing!

Heavenly Father, I will do everything without grumbling or arguing knowing that You will make me shine among the stars in the sky as I firmly hold to the word of life. I have faith my labor is not in vain. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
