Too Poud for God

‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’
— MALACHI 3:20 (NIV)

My mom recently blessed my wife and I with a gift for our wedding anniversary. I assured her she didn’t have to do it and initially rejected the gift, but if you know my mom, she’s going to have her way. My mom has been retired for years, yet stays extremely active in her community, and when she has an opportunity to bless others, she unselfishly does so. When I rejected her gift, I was being carnally minded of her retired status, but I needed to remind myself she still works for God and He doesn’t stop blessing those that bless Him and others.

God will decide who He uses to bless you today. Don’t be too proud to accept what God has for you or who He will use to get it to you. He promised to throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessings over people in the body of Christ that give, that they will not have room enough to keep it to themselves and If the blessed don’t have enough room to store this blessing, they will bless others. So, when you reject blessings from others, you may miss God’s promise in action. If someone has enough to bless you, that means God has given to them to be able to give to you. Accept God’s blessing today and be a blessing for someone else tomorrow.

Heavenly Father, I will continue to bring my tithe to You so that I may receive blessings to bless others. Remove any pride within me that will not accept the body of Christ to bless me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
