Do Your Part

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
— PSALM 19:1 - 4 (NIV)

The heavens declare the glory of God.  The skies proclaim the work of His hands.  The sun sends warm rays of God’s love across the earth. Ocean’s wave roar to the graceful sound of His majesty. Although these things our God created have no speech and use no words, they still pour out praise declaring glory to God and revealing knowledge. And even though they have no words, their voice goes out to the ends of the world testifying how great God is.

As the Psalmist illustrates in today’s scripture, everything God created for you and I performs its purpose and also gives glory to God in doing so.  And although the sky is beautiful to look upon and the ocean’s waves can appear as works of art, you are God’s greatest creation! Do your part and offer God your sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of your lips.  Use your words to tell Him and others of His greatness and glorify Him. Don’t let anything else glorify God more than His most prized possession. God has been good to you. Do your part and tell the world about it.

Heavenly Father, creator of all things. I praise Your holy name and give you all the honor and glory. I will use my words to tell others of Your goodness and remember to glorify You in all I do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
