“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
It amazes me how there can be so much mess and division among people who believe in the same God. Church can sometimes look like a Hip Hop/Rap beef instead of a house of God. You got families against other families (one rap crew beefed out with another), you got members fighting their pastors (artist against record label manager), you got people jealous others are in positions of leadership (rappers mad because they ain’t on tour promoting their new CD). If we just realized the power God has given us when we are perfectly united in mind and thought, the world would have no choice but to recognize the church has a voice.
The body of Christ has a voice. This voice could determine policy changes in local government, influence legislation passed at the state level that impact the conditions our communities, and overthrow ideologies at the federal level, but it all starts with you promoting unity in your local church. Encourage others to agree with what God says to do no matter who’s saying it. Show others through your support how to stir up the gifts in the body. When Satan’s tactics of jealous, gossip, and backbiting aren’t allowed to cause division, the voice God gave the church becomes strong and the force God made it to be reckoned with.
