I recently reconnected with a friend from my past. Speaking with him made me recount the mischief and poor decisions I was part of during my youth. Even now, I still make my share of mistakes: do some things I probably shouldn’t, say some things I ought not. I realize I am still a work in progress, but I believe God kept me in my youth because He had purpose for me. He forgave me and still loved me, even in my wrong, knowing I was still part of His plan.
God has given you this same ability to forgive people in your life. Realize their purpose on this earth, and in your life, is bigger than the mistake they’ve made. When you reconcile with people, you not only allow God to forgive you for your mistakes, but you allow that person to see and feel Christ’s love firsthand through your actions. Don’t assume a person knows you’ve forgiven them. Reach out and make it known. As a believer, you have been given the ministry of reconciliation. If a sinner cannot find reconciliation from a Christian, who can they?
