The Support You Need

In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
— PSALM 62:7 (NKJV)

We can expect a lot from people at times. We expect our families to support our decisions. We expect our significant others to keep us happy. We expect church folk to love us unconditionally. We expect our jobs to provide for us. Holding others to our high expectations can set us up for disappointment and failure. According to scripture, we are to owe no one anything but love.

If you’re looking for support in your life, expect it from God, not people. God will send family, friends, and others into your life to support you in various situations. People can and will fail you, but you can always rely on God. It is in Him you will find all the support you will ever need. God is your salvation when others can’t save you. He is your glory when others don’t give you credit. Jesus is your rock when you need strength. He’s also your refuge when you need protection.  Again, God will send people into your life for you to experience love, peace, security, and happiness.  But when you expect those things, your relationship with Christ is the only guarantee that the support you need will be met.
