Message to the World

These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
— DEUTERONOMY 6:6 - 7 (NIV)

One of the most precious gifts God gave us is the ability to give birth. It’s true that only God can give life, but the process He chose to bring life into this world is truly phenomenal. If you think about it, it shows how much trust God has in us. He trusts us to raise our children to know and love His Son, Jesus. He trusts us to teach our children how to love, respect, and care for others and themselves. His trust is placed solely in us for this precious privilege. Not public schools. Not the government. Not television.

Whatever you choose to pour into your children is the message you give the world. Sure, your children won’t listen to you half the time, but the seed you plant in their tiny spirits is key to their life in Christ. Scripture says to train up a child in the way they should go. Keyword: should. It’s your job to provide direction and guidance to introduce them to Christ. And if you are without children, don’t worry. There’s a child out there without a mother or father figure thirsting for your godly influence. Take every opportunity to pour into your child godly principles. You can make the difference of tomorrow’s world today.

Talk. They’re listening.

Heavenly Father, the commandments you have given me I will impress on my children. I will talk to them at home, out and about, when we lie down, and when we get up. Thank You for trusting me. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
