“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
God is so good to us. The ol’ folks in my church growing up would say, “If He didn’t do nuthin’ else fa me, He’d still be a good God!” But the truth is, He continues to be good to us and renews His mercies every day toward us. He gives us His love, forgiveness, protection, direction, grace, mercy, faithfulness, along with an abundance of other precious promises. We could never repay God for His goodness, but He does require us to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with Him.
God wants your love more than anything. It is through this love that God knows we will obey Him and keep His commandments. When you give God your heart, you begin to love the things He loves. You have no problem acting justly to others, extending mercy towards people, and walking hand in hand with the creator. God’s not concerned with the practice of religion, but concerned with how well you treat others and how much time you spend with Him. Getting to know His way. His voice. His love. God has shown you what good is so that you can show someone else.
