Park Straight

Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
— GALATIANS 6:1 (NIV)

I was looking for a parking spot one evening. I found a close spot and proceeded to pull in. It was dark so I used the car next to me as a reference. When I got out of my car, I noticed my car was crooked as a politician. I looked at the car I used as a reference and it had been parked crooked. Had I took the time to observe the lines in the parking lot instead of looking at the car next to me, I could have saved some time and possibly avoid my car from being dinged or damaged by someone’s car door.

Just like parking straight in the dark, make sure in life you’re using the guidelines God provided you instead of ungodly examples around you. Stayed prayed up and in the Spirit so that you’re able to provide a godly example to those parked crooked in life and restore those persons gently. Watch yourself and don’t be tempted to park crooked because someone else did. Take your time. Do it God’s way. You can save someone from getting dinged, including yourself.

Heavenly Father, I choose to live by the Spirit. Strengthen me to restore my friends and family gently who are caught in sin. Abide within me so that I may not be tempted. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
