Christ Accepted You

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
— ROMANS 15:7 (NIV)

In all ways and all things, we must praise God. One way we bring praise to the Father is by accepting one another. There are so many social agendas that divide us by highlighting what’s different about us. From the color of your skin, to your level of education. From your economic status, to your cultural heritage. The uniqueness God loves about us, the world uses to compartmentalize us. The truth of the matter is, God loves everyone. He looks at the hearts of people and not only what can be visibly seen on the surface.

When you accept others, you bring praises to God. Christ accepted and died for you while you were in the middle of making your mistakes, when you couldn’t get right, and even while you were busy judging others who struggle with sin. With the same love He accepted you, He wants you to accept others. Jesus never said, “I’ll love you if…” Instead, He says, “I’ll love you in spite of…” When you find yourself struggling to accept someone, remember Christ first accepted you.

He did it for you

Heavenly Father, I will accept everyone just as You have accepted me. I will bring my praises to You by loving others as I love myself in spite of our differences. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
