You're Not Perfect. So What?

But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel.
— ACTS 9:15 (NIV)

I’ve sinned. I’ve got things I need to work out in my life. We all do! None of us are perfect. We all have fallen short of God’s glory, and you know what? He still loves us and can use us.

You are God’s chosen vessel no matter your situation. Don’t believe me!? Let’s check out some of the people in our Bibles God chose to use …

Noah was an alcoholic. Abraham was “too old.” Isaac was a daydreamer (ADHD). Jacob was a liar. Leah wasn’t “pretty.” Joseph was abused. Moses was a murderer with a stuttering problem. Gideon was afraid. Samson had long hair and was a womanizer. Rahab was a prostitute. Timothy was “too young.” David had an affair and was a murderer. Elijah was suicidal. Isaiah preached naked. Jonah ran from God. Naomi was a widow. Job went bankrupt. Peter denied Christ. The disciples fell asleep during prayer service. Martha was anxious for everything. The Samaritan woman was divorced. Zaccheus was too small. Saul (Paul) didn’t like Christians. Lazarus was DEAD!

And you don’t think God can use you?! Think again.

Here I am. Send me, Lord!

Heavenly Father, thank You for making me Your chosen vessel and for seeing past my imperfections. Please continue to use me to glorify You when others turn away from me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
