Help During Struggles

May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains.
— 2 TIMOTHY 1:16 (NIV)

While Christ walked the earth, His ministry affected all people. His love was not impartial. He didn’t prioritize His interaction with people based on their social status, wealth, or what they could offer Him. As a matter of fact, you could say that Jesus sought out those who were void of social status, wealth, or thought they could repay Him. Christ was not concerned with what people thought of those He blessed, but more concerned with the testimony they’d have after He blessed them.

When your brother or sister are overtaken by the chains of life, do not be ashamed of them, but rather refresh them. Don’t allow them to struggle alone in their time of need. If someone is defeated and weakened, encourage and strengthen them. When you are Christ-like and minister to those others may pass over, God is able to show Himself strong through you and bless you beyond measure for your acts of love. You were created in the image of God, not man. So be sure your deeds reflect the actions of God and not those comfortable to man.

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me in You image and strengthening me to strengthen others. I will not be ashamed of those in their times of need, but rather refresh them by Your spirit. Bless me to bless others Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
