When it comes to learning, we have a huge advantage over students of the past. We have advancements in technology to aid us, and a wealth of resources at our fingertips. For example, I honestly can’t remember the last time I touched a printed dictionary. I can now speak to Google on my cell phone and have it spell and define the word I’m searching for. Information is easy to obtain, but what good is having all this information if it doesn’t change lives?
Every opportunity Jesus had to teach, people were amazed and their lives were changed forever. Christ was all knowing and all powerful, yet He remained humble and chose to teach using parables so people could not only understand His messages, but also apply them. You too have this opportunity when you enter a classroom, meet at work, mentor a friend, or train a child. Instead of trying to impress your audience with how much you know, focus your teaching on amazing them by changing their lives forever.
