Gospel Rap. Zuumba. Radical Hospitality. The Daniel Plan. Yoga. These are just a few examples of new methods used to accomplish the age old mission of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though they may make some folk uncomfortable by shattering traditional thinking, find refuge in knowing these different gifts are from the same Spirit and these different kinds of service are from the same Lord.
Jesus wasn’t boring. Jesus attracted people. Jesus reached people by relating to them. He taught in parables so that the people would understand His message and be more susceptible to following Him. No. It wasn’t a trick. It was ministry. He met their needs. He fed them. He healed them. And today’s believers must be willing to do the same by meeting the needs of people where they are.
