As Long As You Learn

Stern discipline awaits anyone who leaves the path; the one who hates correction will die.
— Proverbs 15:10 (NIV)

Correction is one of the painful personal growth processes you have to experience in life. It’s not always easy to stand corrected after making a mistake, but I’ve learned if you embrace the mistake more than the correction you may miss the lesson. Correction doesn’t mean you’ve failed at a task and life as you know it is over. It simply means there’s another way of going about it.

George Bernard Shaw said, “Success does not consist in never making mistakes but in never making the same one a second time.” You may never experience success in your life without making some mistakes, but correction is necessary to prevent making the same over and over again. As a believer, when you make those mistakes, use God’s word for correction to get back on the path He has predestined for you. To not accept correction is to not accept change, and anything not willing to change will cease to exist. Making mistakes are key to success as long as you learn the lesson.
