Called to Peace

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
— COLOSSIANS 3:15 (NIV)

You did it! You survived another Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends! I’m always amazed at the premeditated stress some people allow themselves to experience when thinking about dealing with family members for extended periods of time. Some go as far as rehearsing their excuses to leave early or coordinate their schedules to avoid being in the same room with certain people. I wonder what would happened if we planned for God’s peace to show up instead of anticipating Satan’s catastrophe to take place?

As a member of Christ’s body, you were called to peace. That makes you an agent of peace. If peace is void during a family gathering, office meeting, relationship, or even in crowded shopping malls this weekend, it could be because the peace of Christ that rules your heart hasn’t been released. Even in what seems to be a lost cause, you have the power of God in you that makes the impossible possible. Release the peace in you over every situation and be thankful in all things.

Heavenly Father, I choose to let the peace of Christ rule in my heart. You called me to peace and I will act as an agent of peace by sharing Your peace with others with thanksgiving. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
