Good, Loving, and Faithful

Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the LORD is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.
— PSALM 100:4 – 5 (NIV)

I asked some people in our break room at work what they were thankful for this year. I was amazed at the blank faces and others whose eyes rolled up and to the right to think about a response. It wasn’t something in the forefront of their minds. I wonder how many others are missing out by not counting their blessings daily and thanking God for all He’s done.

When today’s scripture is heard, it’s common to think of “entering His gates” and “His courts” as the entry of your church or sanctuary, and to come prepared to give thanks. But I recall Psalm 24:1 saying, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it...”  Therefore, when you open your eye gate, thank God for how good He is. When you enter your living room court, thank God for loving you when you felt no one else did. Even when you enter your car gate, thank Him for His faithfulness. You don’t have to wait until Sunday or random Hallmark holidays to be thankful and offer praise to God.  He’s worthy daily!

Oh give thanks!

Heavenly Father, I will prepare a praise of thanksgiving when I enter your gates and courts. Bless Your holy name! Lord, You are good, loving, and faithful. Thank You for all You’ve done, are doing, and will do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
