My Friend

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
— John 15:15 (NIV)

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of interesting people in my life. I believe no matter how minor the role, every person I have met has contributed to my existence in one way or another. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized most of these people fit into categories.  Some individuals fit in the “we work together” category, while others fit in the “we went to school together.” There’s also subcategories in these groups of “people I confide in” and “people I don’t tell my business.” The persons I confide in are those I’d tell just about everything because I know them as my friend.

Likewise, Jesus calls you friend. Because you are a believer, Jesus does not put you into other categories. He not only trusts you with all His business, but He wants you to know it – and does not mind if you tell the world all about it. Jesus wants you to know the plan God has for you. Always know that you have an unconditional friend in Christ who loves you and cares for you.

Accept the friend request

Lord, thank You for calling me Your friend. I am no longer a servant because you have shared everything You have learned from God with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
