Not the Place

He who is slow to anger has great understanding [and profits from his self-control], But he who is quick-tempered exposes and exalts his foolishness [for all to see].
— Proverbs 14:29 (AMP)

I have to confess. I didn’t like social media. I perceived it as a place people would go to air their dirty laundry, post inappropriate pictures, or allow total strangers to know when their homes and valuables were unattended. But as I matured, my circle of friends matured. Now most of my friends are airing their new promotions or sharing pictures of their children’s accomplishments. But every once in a while, I still come across an angry message shared through social media that sort of backfires.

Social media is not the place to express your anger toward individuals. When someone hurts you or offends you, go to God for understanding and allow yourself to calm down. Talk to a positive friend about your situation, and not only the friend who is going to tell you what you want to hear. Practice self-control and remember the reaction of a quick-temper may only lead to your foolishness being exposed for everyone to see.

Keep calm. Tell God.

Heavenly Father, I will be slow to anger so that through self-control I will understand Your plans. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
