Wait, Wait, Wait!

God, the one and only— I’ll wait as long as He says. Everything I hope for comes from Him, so why not?
— Psalms 62:5 (MSG)

Meijer and Wal-Mart are less than one mile from each other on the west side of Kalamazoo. Because of the short distance between the two, I occasionally stop at both to take advantage of what’s on sale. On one particular trip, I told my twins that we’d go see a movie after shopping. Soon after telling them about my plans for the movie, my daughter began repeatedly asking me, “Daddy, what time is it?” After answering her question what seemed like 35 times, I finally asked, “Why do you keep asking me what time it is?” She replied, “I don’t want to miss the movie.” I then said to her, “Baby, you’re with me and I’m aware of everything we have to do today. I won’t make us miss anything.” Sure enough, we got everything we needed from the store, and made it to the movie theater right on time.

Just like I knew all of the plans we had for the day and the best timing to accomplish them, God is also a great Father who is aware of all the things we need in life, and He knows the perfect time to release them. We just have to go with Him and believe He’ll get us where we need to be when we need to be there. Haven’t gotten promoted yet? Keep waiting and hoping. Still looking for your future spouse? Keep waiting and hoping. God has not forgotten about you or your needs and desires. There are just some other things you and Him have to do first, but don’t worry! He’ll get you there on time.

He’s always right on time

Lord, I thank You for Your many blessings. I know You have me in mind and You hold all my needs and hopes. I will wait on You and worship You, the one and only God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
— This is my prayer
