Fight with Power

After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, ‘Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your families, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.’
— Nehemiah 4:14 (NIV)

In today’s text, Nehemiah was moved with compassion to rebuild the destroyed wall in Jerusalem. After praying to God, Nehemiah received favor and provisions to complete this task. However, when he began rebuilding the wall, he was faced with opposition and distractions that could have pulled him away from the plan God approved. It would have been easy for Nehemiah to walk away from the job. After all, no one asked him to rebuild the wall and no one told him it was his responsibility.

Instead of giving into his enemies and those that threatened him, Nehemiah was reminded of the God who approved his mission. When you’re faced with opposition in your life remember you don’t have to be afraid. You serve a God that is great and awesome! You can stand boldly in the presence of your enemy without taking your focus off your work. And when you complete your work, not only will you be blessed, but your family and your home will be too. Stay focused and fight your battles with the power of God knowing that He will see you through.

If you build it...

God, You are great and awesome. I have no reason to be afraid! I will fight for my family with Your power. I am blessed, My family is blessed. My home is blessed.
— This is my prayer
