Lost and Found

Yes, I’ve seen you in the sanctuary. I’ve seen your power and glory.
— Psalm 63:2 (CEB)

Someone once asked if I had ever lost something. I said, “Of course.” He asked, “What’s the first thing you do once you find what you were looking for?” I said, “Put it somewhere so I won’t lose it again?” “Nope!” he replied. “Ok. Use it?” I asked. “Wrong again,” he said. After a few more guesses I finally gave up and said, “Ok! So what’s the first thing I do after I find the thing I am looking for?” He smirked and answered, “You stop looking.”

Once you find Christ, you can “stop looking.” So often we look to people or possessions for the blessings only God can offer. The love, power, or peace we find in others or material things are only temporary, but the blessings of God are eternal! You don’t have to search all over to fill what’s missing in your life. What you’re searching for has been right there with you all along. So, stop looking! Look to Jesus and witness His power and glory. There’s no reason to look elsewhere.

Look up!

Lord, I thank You for providing Your sanctuary wherever I go. I will look to You in all things to witness Your power and glory. You are everything I need and I will seek Your face. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
— This is my prayer
